PINZ in Oakdale Wins “Best New Center”

OAKDALE, Minn – PINZ is named “Best New Center” in Bowler’s Journal’s 26th Annual Bowling Center Architecture & Design Awards. Phillip Fitzgerald is the architect and interior designer for PINZ. According to the magazine, “it takes an engaging exterior as well as an eye-catching interior to be named ‘Best New Center’, and PINZ delivers.” In recent years 25-35 bowling and entertainment centers world-wide enter, but this year there were 52 hoping to earn the top place. A panel of designers and architects choose the winners.
“International centers have dominated in recent years”, said Bob Johnson, Editor of Bowler’s Journal. “So a domestic overall winner is great.”
The awards segment can be found in the November issue of Bowler’s Journal (www.bowlersjournal.com) and includes nine other categories: Best New Exterior (which PINZ won 2nd place), Best New Interior (claimed by a center in Dubai, United Arab Emirates), Best New Lounge/Restaurant, Best New Ancillary Profit Center, Best Renovated Exterior, Best Renovated Interior, Best Renovated Lounge/Restaurant and Best Renovated Ancillary Profit Center. The online issue will be available after the first of the year or visit http://www.pinz.com/system/files/PINZ-Website-Files/BowlersJournal2010DesignAwards.pdf to see the awards section.
